Beta help, please?

Um, so, I have a problem.  See, I just started watching Merlin online a couple days ago, and I'm already almost halfway through the first season.... and I have this fic.  And it's already 4,000 words long- which, for the record, is a lot faster than my muse usually works- and it's maybe a third done- which is a little longer than my muse has been working lately.  And also I'm kind of worried it's a little insane- or I was- because it takes a strand of the Arthurian legends the show hasn't (as far as I know) played with yet and throws it in the mix.  And I don't even have a Merlin icon yet!

And then I found this comm, and took a giant breath of relief.

Would anybody be willing to beta? I'm pretty good with grammar and spelling- though I could use a Brit-picking, actually- what I really need help with is nailing Arthur's voice.  The fic is het, and it's from Arthur's POV, and it's mostly Arthur- and Uther-centric at the moment, though that will change some.  If you're worried that my writing might suck, a variety of my stuff is up at AOOO- I also have an old account on FF.net, but that stuff is really not representative of my best work, so if you go there please keep in mind I've gotten better.

No warnings, will probably be rated Teen at the highest, no triggers- well, for modern-day readers.  An OC will be about as freaked out by sorcery as Uther, and she'll have some triggery-reflexes due to traumatic experiences, but those experiences won't be described graphically and she'll lose some of the sensitivity about them over time.  (This fic is going to span at least a decade of Arthur's life, probably.)

I hope it's okay to put a beta-request here?  if not- well, DW doesn't seem to have any Merlin-fic general comms, they're all about art or Arthur/Merlin, etc?

ETA2: Ack!  It's five six (ETA3) thousand words long!  For the love of Merlin, won't somebody stop me?
